Maintenance works airport closed to air traffic 15 29 July

This summer, Swedavia is carrying out maintenance work at Kiruna Airport. The airport will therefore be closed to air traffic 15–29 July.

Eurowings to launch non-stop service to Düsseldorf from Kiruna and Luleå

Launching in time for Christmas, Lufthansa Group’s low-cost carrier, Eurowings, will fly non-stop during the winter season from Kiruna and Luleå to its hub in Düsseldorf.

Kiruna Airport first to introduce remote air traffic services

Kiruna Airport is the first of Swedavia’s airports to introduce remote tower services. Starting Tuesday, June 1, air traffic at the airport will be managed from Stockholm Arlanda and the Swedish Civil Aviation Administration’s new remote tower centre.

New law prohibiting smoking as of July 1, 2019

Beginning July 1, a new Swedish law banning smoking in some outdoor public areas will go into effect. The law covers areas at and outside the airport.

Swea chatbot launched at Swedavia’s airports

It will soon be Christmas, one of the most hectic travel periods. To make things easier for all travellers before their journey and at the airport, Swedavia is now launching the AI-based chatbot Swea, the first to make an appearance at any Nordic airport.
