Terminal 5 is being developed with a new security checkpoint and an expanded marketplace that have a clear Nordic touch and will change and enhance the impression that the whole airport makes. A new walkway between Terminals 4 and 5 has been built that links the terminals together. Adjacent to the terminals, a new hotel and office buildings are taking shape.

Stockholm Arlanda Airport shall provide effective, inspiring travel experiences. It shall be a leading meeting place and an international role model in sustainability.

To meet the needs of today and tomorrow, from passengers, airlines and the airport’s tenants, a number of major development projects have been carried out at Stockholm Arlanda in recent years and development of the airport continues. New hotels and office properties are emerging adjacent to the terminals.

Terminal development

Stockholm Arlanda is being modernised and refurbished. In the summer of 2023, an up to date new security checkpoint opened in Terminal 5 after several years of construction. At the same time, the first part of the new Marketplace opened, offering a wide and varied range of Nordic architecture. The new Marketplace will be fully completed in 2025.

An airport city is taking shape

We’re not just developing our aviation operations. A brand-new city is being developed at Stockholm Arlanda Airport – with hotels and conference facilities, shops, restaurants and creative workspaces.
